Why I No Longer Allow Blog Comments on Luana.me
Thoughts, Updates · October 30, 2018, TuesdayAs of May 25, 2018, I no longer allow blog comments on my personal blog.
I could sum up the reason with one word: GDPR.
That’s the EU General Data Protection Regulation that came into effect on May 25, 2018, and it applies to all businesses, organizations and websites that deal with EU citizens (not necessarily located in the EU).
And yes—it applies to personal bloggers as well.
So a change was necessary.
February-August 2018 Monthly Wrap-Up: Books & Freelance Work
Monthly Wrap-Ups, Updates · September 19, 2018, WednesdayWelcome to my February-August 2018 monthly wrap-up! 🙂
Because I haven’t posted an update since February, I thought it would be good to merge the wrap-ups together into a single post. (September’s will go with October’s the next month.)
Here’s a brief personal life summary before I dive deep into projects, readings and freelance work news:
- My dad was diagnosed with leukemia in early March and admitted to the hospital shortly thereafter. It hit me pretty bad and I fell into a depression that has only recently started to fade (dad is okay, he got his marrow transplanted and his health is slowly improving, although it’s going to be a long journey—positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated ♥)
- My psychotherapist and a psychotherapy book helped me find the right diagnosis for my condition: it’s not an Asperger’s Syndrome as we suspected, but High Sensitivity. I’m an HSP. I’m trying to find a good neurologist to see before the year ends because I want to find some kind of ‘fix’ for my sensory processing issues (if there’s any; I hope there is…)
January 2018 Monthly Wrap-Up – Projects & Freelance Work
Monthly Wrap-Ups, The Freelance Life · February 11, 2018, SundayWelcome to my January 2018 monthly wrap-up! 🙂
It’s been a while since I last posted one of these updates. There was a hacking attack in August 2017 that saw my site disappear for a few months because I didn’t have the time and energy to clean it up.
But as you can see, Luana.me is back online for the new year – and with HTTPS/SSL installed to avoid security issues and major annoyances.
